Don't listen to those guys! The cars low enough you will notice every time you go over a speed bumb or pull in a driveway too fast. Get exhaust, then intake. The stock intake is ok but aftermarket exhaust will sound better. Get intake soon after cause you will miss the blower whine. I then got the ingalls etd and a b&m shifter. After intake and exhaust its up to you.

Ok lower it, then you'll be missing the money you wasted on it every time you scrape your bumper on the ground.

motor/trans mounts, header + catback, intake, intense stage 4 or 5. in that order thats what i would do anyway. I'm not sure how sloppy the mounts in the cobalt are but if the previous Jbody mounts were any indication, the mounts will go a long way to improving driver feedback and control.

I agree with you, it's low enough. My cousin has a lowered car and 4get about it I don't wanna worry about every lil speed bump or hill. Truthfully, i don't get the whole greatness that is lowering a vehicle.

I agree. I scrape as it is now, I hate to ask what mine would do lowered, even an inch. There are places around here that would just be inaccessable without risking losing the damn bumper, my house would unfortunately be one of those places...

This is my 2nd Cobalt. My first was an LS with a SS 2.4 front bumper that has no lip. I scraped that bumper quite a bit and the car wasn't lowered. My SS/SC that I have now is lower then my LS was. I'm being very careful now at speed bumps and those curb deals you face into. I'd like less wheel gap but I think I'll just live with what I have. Plus lowering isn't just slapping on some springs. Along with it to consider is wheel alignment and the beating the struts are taking.

I don't know about you, but here in AZ we don't have curbs, with driveways. We have rounded sidewalk edges, so insted of driving up a slight grade pulling into your driveway, you drive up a big bumb. I'm at stock ride height and if I don't back out of my driveway at anything more than a crawl I hear the beautiful CCCCHHHHHSSSS as I go over the bumb.

Never scraped once with my sportlines in.

You guys and gals who have, must have some nasty speed bumps in your areas.

my college had the NASTIEST speed bumps in the world. I would bottom out going like 2 km/h over them in my unmodified saturn! my buddy in his prelude looked like he was going to cry everytime he went over them lol

i agree as far as the lowering goes. i have only had it a week now but i've already managed to scrape 3 times. each time some random pedestrian hears me curse a storm too.

i haven't done any mods yet, but im thinking exhaust will be my first. it shouldn't be a problem for my warranty though, at least thats what my friend is telling me.

I plan to start with the airbox mod and some good looking headlight bulbs... then I'm gonna do the Engalls dampner and a strut bar... then see where it goes from there. These cars have a good amount of power stock... anything that will help them to hook up should improve your times.
