what combination of mods do you have on your cobalt?

here's a good rule of thumb when using 50/50 mixture (water, methanol)

m62 supercharger

3.1-2.8 pulley (3gph) - richens by roughly 5-6%
2.7-2.5 pulley (5-7gph) - richens by 5-10%

Not a bad choice... I ran a 5gph w/ the 2.8 as well. On a 50/50 mixture it richens your afr by 8-10% a.k.a .8-1.0 afr

so if your running 11.8 @ wot from 3k-7k. You will richen to 11.0-10.8; lean p.e. by 8-10% or retune your maf w/ meth on to bring your afr back to your desired 11.8.

Damn some of you guys and your high meth counts. I thought you started to loose power as you went over 50/50.

The reason it's not recommended to go over 50/50 is that it becomes flammable past that point.

The reason that's an issue, is that methanol hardens most plastics and rubber compounds. So, if your pump is not one designed to be used with methanol, eventually they will start to leak through. and flammable liquid going into an electric motor is a poor plan.

That being said.. if you buy a kit from a reputable company.. it's going to be methanol safe..

I'm 100% that AIS kits are designed to run on 100% methanol... For one AIS says it does, and for two I run it.

Devils Own is also capable of running 100% methanol.

moral of the story... dont buy cheap over night parts from japan... ehmm china

Adding more water to the mix does yield lower hp/trq.
It's give and take; adding a greater concentration of distilled water provides greater detonation control. Water is a non-combustible fluid, virtually creating a infinite octane.

again... give and take. (also cools substantially better)
