I highly recommend the damper from Turbo Tech. Excellent vendor quick shipping and the damper works wonders.

so far I have the ingalls e.d. , zzp poly engine mount and traction bars... wheel hop is very minimal now... awaiting the arrival of my intense poly tranny mount inserts and it should be all gone.... as of now I can launch at around 2k with just a little hop ... but mostly wheel spin... I need D.R.'s damnit

The one thing to remember when going full poly mounts is the LABOR cost of getting them installed or the TIME you have to waste doing it yourself. Plus what do you do when the mounts vibrate too much for your taste? Do you then tear into the car again and decide its time for the Ingalls Stiffy. The Stiffy allows for adjustment where the motormounts DONT. You can adjust the stiffy for track days and then adjust it to super soft for dates with the ladies.
Just a thought. Both have advantages and dis-advantages. Pick wise and look for the solution that best fits what you use you car for. If you race a lot go poly mounts. If you drive this and only this as your track and daily driver go with the Stiffy. You can always go to full mounts later. Its hard going back to stock when you realize mounts werent for you.

Its all personal prefrence. I went Ingalls due to ease of install and product reputation. Once power gets to a higher level I will go mounts and the stiffy, but for now the Stiffy is doing its job very well.
I have never expereienced wheel hop in my car. It is only 1,300 miles old and I haven't ever dropped the clutch in high rpm's besides during roll situations. To me, first gear works better if you get it moving a bit, then WOT it...that's what I do when I take off. Works for me!
I have the Ingals ETD and the intense tranny mounts, I love em
And on stg 2 w/ 2.8 I have almost no hop at all.
In the rain the other day I didn't get any wheel hop at all droppin from 2k, just spun like crazy,,,
I'm sure I'd get some if I dropped it from 3k, but I'm cool with 2-2.5 launches anyways.

The Stiffy works well to controll the engine movement and get the power to the wheels. The only problem with that is if your tires cant grip the road you get wheel spin. The key here is to try different launchs and find what best works for your driving style.
One more thing about the Stiffy Vs. Mounts battle.... I know most dealers will have a problem with buying a car from you with all poly mounts. So there is one more time you would have to swap out mounts or buy new ones if you tossed/destroyed your factory ones. The stiffy can be removed in less than 30 minutes.
My 06 SS/SC was purchased on August 04, 2006 and being one of the last 06 cobalts made, I am not sure if they changed something, however, I have never experienced wheel hop, ever. I've launched from 2K, 3.5K and 4K with no problems but spinning tires. Also if you know how to properly launch the car you dont need to worry about wheel hop anyway.
This is how I launch: at the light I will find the point RIGHT before the clutch engages, rev the engine to just below 2K and prepare to shift like a mother lover. Basically you get the go i apply equal amounts of gas and clutch (obviously in opposite directions) which creates a tiny bit of slippage but allows a strong launch momentum. As soon as the clutch is fully out that's when you want to pin the gas as you should have enough momentum now to not break the tires loose. Rush up to redline and get it into second quickly by knowing exactly where the clutch disengages and engages, of course you don't want to push the clutch to the floor.
When I launch like this I not only get full traction but I still can run a mid 14! Its a big trade off between wheel spin and rpms, i feel its better to launch lower with just a quick churp and NO WHEEL HOP!
