When To Get A Tune

Hi, Im new to this forum as well as Cobalts. I apologize if this has already been asked. I couldnt locate it if it has been.

I wanted to know when i would need to get a tune. As in after what mods should i get a tune? After stage 2 and an intake?, after an exhaust? etc.

Also if there is no tuner near me how does this trifecta work?

Thank You

I would say get a tune once you're "done" unless it is necessary.

For example it should go Intake>Header>Exhaust>Tune

Not Intake>Tune>Exhaust>Tune

but there are some mods like bigger injectors and pulley swaps that you will have to tune for

Yea what he said, u can basically do intake/exhaust stuff before tune. also u can do supporting mods like cooling systems for your supercharger, rotated transmission mounts and stuff like that with no tune needed.

idk where trifectas located i think u need to buy a program to get it to work if you cant go to them

and welcome to the forum!

Adding a intake will skew your maf readings for sure. Most tuners will tune you over and over once you pay their initial fee as well. Therefore IMO i would always get with my tuners once i install anything for best results.

I also have some questions about tuning in general and also am sorry if this has been asked a million times before. But I am considering some time in the future going to stage 2 or maybe just a diff. pulley size, etc... I have never gotten a tune done and was just wondering where do you go? Do you just have to know somebody with the system or go to a garage or what? I cant really seem to find any info about this. (I might not be digging far enough)
Anyways, I'm just curious.
