Where to buy cams?
aftermarket cams for the lsj sold by ttr eh? funny. the only cams on the market are for the 2.2 from comp. jbp "sells" cams fro the lsj. however. they rank right up there with stock ones. gmr cams require modified lash adjusters ti run correctly.
1) Buy 2.2 cams, block oil valley on head. Then ditch cam sensor and block off the end cap. Live with extended crank times.
or
2) Buy two 2.2 intake cam blanks, use one as exhaust cam, have a machine shop press in the hex for the cam sensor at correct angle.
Personally, I would do choice #2, but just ignore the wrong hex angle. Just plug the cam sensor in anyway and just live with extended cranks.

spend that G-note on pulley, or OTT stage kit, or exhaust, or methamphetamine, sure cams sound kick ass, but i think theres only a few LSJs that run em. so you might have a tough time tuning them in for increased power levels
mods to the car as of now are air box mod but already ordered a injen cai. maganflowexhaust. and im getting ready to order a s/c pulley and UD pulley.. and in a couple of weeks tb, intake mani, and headers
I had a set of GMR cams in my car, and the powerband is nice with them, but nothing that special. In order to run them correctly, you need a set of solid lash adjusters, which would cost more than I paid for the cams themselves, and upgraded valve springs, which also cost as much as the cams did, so at the end of the day, not worth it until you are really pushing the edge of whats available to make power on the blower, and you need someone with serious tuning experience to make them work well anyway.
o ok... so basicaly the gains arent worth the cost of the cams and upgrading your valve train then. I was just curious to see if the gains were worth the effort. I'm just trying to get the car a bit faster, but nothing too serious cuz i already have a track car...
Best bet is to stay away from cams until you are ready to build up the motor, they aren't a simple drop in, and there isn't much out there that is really worth the cost involved to do the swap for the power you gain.
