Where can I get a 2.9 inch pulley that will fit the stage 2 hub?

Let me makes sure I understand this correctly.. The stage 2 pulley mounts different than the stocker. If a pulley fits the S2 hub, all I have to do is pop the bolts off and plop it on right? No pulley puller needed in this situation? Right? *shrug*

Also, How much difference did you guys notice that are running 2.9 on stage 2 vs. stage 2 pulley? I've never really seen and dyno or track comparisons. My guess is maybe 10hp or less and just barely noticeable... Or is it like "Holy crap Batman!"... I'm hoping for the batman part..

I'm sure this info is on here somewhere already. But I don't feel like going on an hour long scavenger hunt picking through crap I've probably already seen before just to have more questions. Sorry If you get mad.

 

Yes, you just have to remove the bolts and swap the pulley over. The hub stays on the supercharger. There is a guy on here who makes them. He can make whatever size you want that bolts onto the stage2 hub. Here is the link to his ebay auction where he sells them.

you need to contact nate herbstrt or somthing like that he makes custom pulleys to fit your needs

 

WHAT!? No pulley puller once you get stage 2? That's awseome if its true.

 

its true .. why else would your pulley be mounted on a hub?

 

That's really the only reason to get Stage 2... if it didn't have the quick-change hub you'd be better off buying everything seperately and getting a custom tune.

IDK about the batman stuff. But, I'm running with a 2.9" pulley and CAI, + catback... My times are listed in signature..

 

If anyone knows, how was the differance between Ste stage 2 pulley and the 2.9?

Big enough of a differance to make this worth while?

Meaning, could you FEEL a differance?

 

you're gonna pick up like 2psi under perfect conditions... but it will get to max boost faster.
i think it would be around 8-12WHP.. and like 15-18WTQ. Probably noticeable. but the pulley is only $60USD.. so what do you have to lose?

I can vouch for Nate's (nherbst454) pullies. I have his 2.9 high polished for the stage 2 hub. fitment was perfect and its light as hell to boot. excellent quality over all. I could feel a slight but noticeable difference in the car with the pulley. I installed a fujita CAI, this pulley and zex plugs all at the same time. It was a really nice worth while upgrade.

It shouldn't make a difference.. Maybe if you were comparing a 50lb pulley to a 4oz pulley. Then weight might be and issue.

Maybe I'm wrong then. But you wouldn't think the engine would spin the supercharger any faster over a few .oz's. Friction, pulley diameter, and supercharger construction would overplay weight.

 

well think about it...the same goes for wheels on a car...same size 18" wheel and tire but one weighs a couple pounds less...there will be a difference...

 

Yeah it makes logical sence.. but.. I would still like to see what difference a pulley 4oz's lighter than another one would do.

It makes enough of a difference that if you had the choice between two pulleys and one was 4oz's lighter, you should take the lighter pulley. It won't be all that noticeable but it helps create boost a little faster when you need it.

Edit: Oh BTW, it's not a 4oz. difference, it's a 12oz difference. You could actually probably log the difference if you wanted to waste the time.
