Exactly. Its a "Drive-by-Wire" system, therefore there is no actual throttle "cable" to speak of. Its all electronically controlled.

So basically you can't rev the engine from under the hood like on the older cars, you actually have to go inside and press the gas pedal

It could probably be electrically manipulated , then again Im sure the resistence value used are probably gonna be tough to manipulate . This is a bit excessive , haha , but you could get a accelerator pedal out of wrecked Cobalt , make a extender harness . Unpug the pedal in the car , and plug in the extender harness , run it to the engine bay and plug in loose accelerator pedal

Since throttle blades (minimum air rate screw ) , IAC motors and TPS's are not manually adjustable anymore like they used to . I really no longer see a need to beable to give the engine throttle from the engine bay , unless you were just reving to show off .

Don't mess with that. The PCM will throw codes after codes after codes (CEL). I just purchased the service manual set, and all the TPS sensors are continuously verified by the PCM. Plus the fact that if there is something wrong with the throttle motor, the car will go in the reduced power mode.

All Accelerator pedal wiring runs through the PCM. Don't fiddle with any of it.

And revving the engine while under the hood is useful for certain diagnostic tests. Alternator, belt noises, etc.

Rig up a pulley system to the gas pedal so you can rev it from the engine bay
