widest tires on ss s/c

i have the stock 215/45R18 on my cobalt looking to get new tires i want to put wider.
my friend has 225/40R18 can i go to a 235 or 245

my cobalt is lowered idk if that makes a differnce

I'm curious too. I have 225/45/18's and like the ride but want to go to 235/40/18's next time I buy tires. Will these rub on sportlines?

no they dont rub i have 235/40/18 falkins on sportlines no issues

Discount tire got the wrong size for me...

255/40/18s WILL rub up front on stock height

I think I am going to go with 235 next time myself... I like the 255s on the back, wish i could keep em (bought front tires, too big, so they put them on the back for me to use till the right size comes in...)
