Question WTF is going on with my brake lights

Ok I'm having some serious problems with my brake lights. Ok I've replaced the blub twice so it's not that. when I brake my brake lights don't light up but my third brake light does. My turn signals work perfectly fine. I've checked all fuses and replaced all of the fuses that have anything to do with my brake lights. Now this is what I think might have caused this to happen when upgrading to a yellow top optima battery my battery cable barely nipped the wrong terminal and this made my double din fuse blow And my speaker fuse also but other than that nothing else. Please anyone with info to help me fix this problem all info Is very well appreciated

Do you have the car running when you check them?

^^ Yes, listen to him! I just found this out last week. Weird thing, ONLY the third brake light lights up when the car is off. TUrn signals, hazards work, but not the outer tail lights when the car is off.

This is a hunch, but try these 2 things.

1st - Unplug the battery for 10 minutes then plug back in, check lights.

2nd - Take your turn signal bulbs out and flip them aroud the other way. - some cars are like that
