Zzp entry turbo kit

Hey all,

new to this forum but have been a member of redlineforum for a bit. It’s a bit of a ghost town over there so figured I’d try asking my question here. I was wondering if anyone was running the zzp entry turbo kit yet? Looking for feedback is all since I’m looking to pull the trigger on it fairly soon. Thanks.

zzp has been selling this basic setup for many years now in one form or another, i think the latest thing is the oem lnf turbo and a manifold to fit that. the way i see it is its a great place to start, but in the end i think many people will end up replacing a good chunk of this kit as they want to make more power. thats not a bad thing seeing as you can bolt a zfr in place of the k04, but the intake manifold and cooling will be the next issue. it would be a nice upgrade if they offered a proper air/water intercooler to go with a saab intake manifold seeing as all lsj cars already have the rest of the system in the car, often times with an additional heat exchanger.

That’s generally what I’m looking for. Something to get my foot in the door with turbo swap that I can build up potentially in the future. I’m not looking for crazy power. Maybe 300whp is all. I guess I’m mainly wondering if it’s worth the cost over a stage 2 kit in terms of performance. I know a stage 2 alone won’t get me to that power but if the turbo kit can with minimal modifications in addition, I’d be a buyer ha.

In terms of $ per HP, the stage 2 kit is hard to beat. I've been really happy with mine. And besides maybe an upgraded clutch there aren't many other supporting mods. Drive train and suspension has held up well.

That being said, every once in awhile I think "hmm... $4500 for 400 horsepower does sound pretty damn nice."

I agree, it’s tough to beat the cost and gains of the stage 2, but zzp’s kit for entry level turbo is only 1500. Which will bring the car easily into lnf power or more depending on turbo choice. I went with just the k04 for now since this is my daily and don’t want to push it too crazy just yet. I’m anxiously awaiting my kit to arrive lol.

Will do, zzp is taking their time shipping it. Guess they were missing some parts. Supposed to be on its way next week.
