ZZP Exaust setup Question (header and downpipe)

hey, i've been looking into changing my exhaust here recently. Currently i have a magnaflow exhaust (2.5 in catback). I was looking into zzp's long tube header/down pipe exhaust package they sell. The options within the package say i can order a catted 2.5 or catted 3 in exhaust. Any suggestions as to which i should choose? and why?

Think about this for about 20 seconds..... You got a 2.5" catback.... Now you can either order a 2.5" downpipe or a 3" DP ..... Do you think the 2.5" catback would bolt up to the 3" downpipe? Hmm okay.. that's got ya wondering how that would work... now keep thinking.... Do you think a 2.5" catback would bolt up to a 2.5" downpipe? hmm..... I believe 2.5" and 2.5" go together much better than 2.5" and 3" ... but hey, maybe i'm crazy.

Also if you pay very, very close attention on ZZP's website when looking at the long tube package, you'll notice an Option 2... If you read the options under Option 2, you MIGHT realize something.... MIGHT..

2 options say they are for a 3" catback and 2 options say they are for a 2.5" catback..... NO WAY?!

Sooo..... What do you think is the best option.

Get the ZZP 3" pipe with the 2.5" reduction for a 2.5" catback.

They have that under the options list OP.

The 2.5" exit downpipe on the long tube starts at 3", and necks to 2.5" at the end.

That's what I told him he should get. You're right, there is no reason to have a "full" 3" exhaust, but that little stubby downpipe that comes with the long tube will not hurt anything at 3".

OP, select w/ cat for stock or 2.5" catback. That is all you need to know.

Alright "TStone" was to be a douche about it. I'm not stupid, I know the two different sizes don't match up. That's what the reduction is for. Didn't think I needed to add that in there since its kind of obvious but maybe not to you.

I'm a mechanical engineer that designs transformers for a living, so I think I know just a tad. Want me to go into detail about transformers? cause I can... and it wouldn't be hard to make you look like an idiot who doesn't know anything at all about them. So sorry for not knowing every single thing about a cobalt like you do. Must be nice...

okay last question i have is about the 02 bung plug. What is it actually. Read that it plugs the hole where the o2 sensor goes but woudnt this make it to where the car would fail inspection?

The option for an extra O2 bung is if you plan on running a wideband.

Dont get on here much for this reason. There are better forums out there. This site is more social/drama targeted sometimes than technical. Which is cool too, there are a lot of cool/good people on here.
