I got my new header and downpipe today from ZZP. The quality is actually better then I expected. A shop next to my house quoted me 150 to install. Do you think this is hi? So i get it installed tommorow and i'll let you know if the Butt Dyno yields any results. Here are some pics. Dont mind the dirty carpet. My nephew stayed with me and my brother for like 2 weeks and just ruined the carpet.

WOW, the one my friend got looked like crap... the primaries were half blocked by the flange and when we installed it, it was too tight to the block and was pushing against the coolant crossover tube in the back causing a massive coolant leak.. needless to say 9 hrs later we ended up putting the stock manifold back on....

 

Let us know what you think. I'm at work, so I can't see the pics. Did you the the all 3" downpipe, or the one that bolts up to a 2.5" cat-back? Also, is this with no cat or with a highflow cat. You're gains will be more with no cat.

 

Was it a ZZP. I hope mine doesnt have that problem. Did it look similar to mine or was it different.

 

same setup... I can't really see the tubes inside the flange in you pic... but he got the combo kit they sell...

 

I got the one that bolts up to the 2.5 catback. The 3 inch is a weld in application. I got the one with the high flow cat due to emmisions.

 

thats what he got.... I wish you luck..... just double check the clearance before they tighten it all the way... my friend works at a dealership and said that part is hard to get and a bitch to change (they have a special tool just to do it).

yup... we had to take it off.... hey jlewis... I came up there alittle late saturday night but I was up there til after 3.... I hope it was just that one that was f'd up... I haven't heard anything else bad about them.

 

yeah he put the stock manifold back on and is only running the downpipe.

 

by the jlewis, I'm not gonna be able to pick up that header off you, we're working on designing something new.. sorry man, try and put it up on the classifieds up here... or pm john (nhjk or something) I"m sure he'll buy it after the problems we had friday night.

anyway.....

I have it and it went in without a hitch. I had to get my own bolts to connect the downpipe to the header. Just remember to tighten ALL the bolts and don't work on the car over a grate...that really sucks when you drop tools and they fall under the grate (Kritter). I didn't reinstall the cover, it didn't exact fit.

I'm glad it worked for you... I'm just pissed I wasted a whole day working on someone elses car and didn't even get to retune mine for the intake and injectors.
