ZZP Headers + Downpipe

Hi,

So I've decided that I may only get some headers + downpipe from ZZP probably. I have an SS/SC 06 with Stage 2 and I'm stock other than that. I've decided not to get the cat-back because of the law enforcement over here.

So is this a good idea to keep the stock cat-back and install the headers + downpipe? Will it improve performance + sound? Are there other manufacturers better than ZZP?

Finally, what is the best setup with the mid-length ZZP combo?

Thanks

Gabriel

The exhaust will be louder and you will get nice gains with the smaller pulley. Best combo to go with is a 1 3/4th painted mid length with a 3" downpipe and a 2.5" exit.

Thanks for your quick response ... So just to confirm my ideal option if I keep my stock cat-back is :

1-3/4 HIGH TEMP PAINT
Mild Steel
3" DP w/ 2.5 Bolt In

What is the magnaflow cat? Not good? I guess straight is better?

Thanks again!

Magnaflow cat is good if you have to pass a visual inspection. No cat will yield more gains but it all depends on what you have to pass when it comes to emissions

A bunch of people have had problems with the ZZP midlengh header/dp combo leaking.

The reason being is that ZZP uses a two bolt flange to connect the header to the dp. Almost every other company uses a 3 bolt flange.

For a nice inexpensive solution I have been recommend the CA V2 header with a ZZP dp.

You can get a CA V2 header on ebay for $215 shipped. A brand new ZZP cat'd dp is around $200.

I bought that setup for my TVS and then changed my mind and got a CTI midlenght header and dp.

But I think the CA V2 shorty header would be perfect for a stage 2 car.

**** yeah dude. I have the ZZP midlength, 3" catted DP, and STOCK catback. Really woke the car up and doesn't sound like a riced out piece of **** going down the road.

I've said it time and time again, you do NOT need to change the catback on these cars for power. Header and DP, leave the rest alone.

Is this what you have ?

Car:Manual
Model:1 3/4 inch high temp paint
Option 1:Magnaflow cat
Option 2:Mild steel downpipe
Option 3:3" downpipe, 2.5" exit, bolt in

I'll probably take the same thing but without the Magnaflow Cat cause I doubt I'll have to go for an inspection. I'm really happy that I found a solution without the risk of being harrassed by the police.

The sound has really improved from stock ?

You can put in a better header/downpipe but the OEM catback is still a bottleneck.

Could i run a ZZP downpipe with a Pace setter header? Pace setter seems to be cheaper..are they decent?

a custom down pipe will need to be made for the pace setter.

Ebristol did you ever bolt on this setup? I'm thinking about going this route. I know a shorty header is not the best setup for big gains but its gotta be a lot better over stock right? Also, is the badmab header the same as the ca v2?

You could just chop your stock muffler off and get a dynomax turbo muffler thats what I did and it sounds really good and barely louder than stock.

I actually never did. I sold it before I installed it and got a CTI header/dp combo.

I have had 3 headers and a aftermarket exhaust. I'm now on vibrant midlength with downpipe setup and stock exhaust and feel it's better then the stock header with aftermarket cat back. Trust me get a header and downpipe first then get a exhaust last

Yes, the CA V2 and BADMAB header are the same:
