ZZP Modular Pulley System instead of GM

I know its a sad question but i really don't want to confuse anything up. I got the GM stage 1 kit (42.5lb injectors) and im looking to upgrade to the gm stage2, but why pay all that extra money for the GM kit? (i dont care about my warrenty)

My solution is: buy the zzp modular system 2.9 w/ hub and the GM stage 2 belt (total cost ~150) and then take it to my chevy dealer and they'll retune the ecu. isnt that worth the same that is given in the stage 2 kit or am i missing something? im so anxious to get it ordered if anyone could help me it be sweeeet! thanks

i know the 2.9 is gonna give me more boost too

Oh, I thought you were talking about this upgrade without the stage 1. Then yeah Tommy, I think you'd be set. I would just try and get a dyno of before and after. to see increase as well as your A/F's just to be safe (plus, I love putting the car on the dyno, its fun to hear it run all the way up to 7 grand )

The ZZP Modular is the way to go, very nice and if you want to upgrade later on by getting 60LB injectors your set for a pulley by buying a second pulley size of your choice.

One of the big questioned when the stage 1/2 kits where released was are the stage 1 and stage 2 calibrations the same? Unless someone has some difference information they are the exact same.

It's gonna take a little more than Stage 1 and a pulley to get those numbers

well actually now that im relooking at it, it seems that if you get the zzp modular system in black, it will match gm's stage 2 pulley and it doesnt show any other marking on it.. most of the time the dealer wont even know what you have in the engine.. only the guy in the office will determine the prices and fix problems for free under warrenty, and if the mechanics see that its not gm for some reason, there not gonna run and tell the guy in the office that your warrenty should be void.. yea right mechanics dont give a ****

overall im seeing that the zzp is pretty good, im getting the chrome/clear one myself

man ive been looking into this whole zzp/pulley/gm thing for the past week also and its been drivng me nuts.. but i have learned a lot of confidence and reliability in the zzp pulley system set up... youll pay out the ass for gm just to keep yopur warrenty -dont drive like a jerk and you dont have to worry about it, the zzp will def be better than the gm stage (plus the gm stage2 pulley is 3.06")

glad to hear it, im purchasing the 2.9 modular system tonight in clear (just bc i wanna show that its not stock at shows) with the GM stage 2 belt. i already have the gm injectors with the GM retune.. should easily be driving in 13's no problem

thanks everyone for the help and info.. ill put up some pics and desrpitons when its all done

Do you engrave them or are they just flat black like the gm stage 2 one? Do you supply the bolts and the hub as well? Very interested.

So why would anyone buy the stage 2? It seems that it is cheaper to just buy the stage one and a different pulley system if it is in fact the same tune.

What is the smallest pulley you can run with your system without machining the snout?

All for GM to get more money and to maintain warrenty

If you go ZZP, you can go down to a 2.6 pulley w/o machining, Intense can only go to 2.7.

id listen to what wicked has to say, he wouldnt tell ya wrong

exactly what he said, gm will jack up the price bc they can and know people will buy it (they still are a business trying to make money like everyone else) cheapest way to go.. set some gm injectors (can hook to stock harness) or siemens/lucas or whatever then get a pulley set up like this (2.9 to be safe under 42.5 injectors)

I see your a new member so I will try to help you out here. Maybe you should become a vendor( contact JonnyB ) and sell your pulley systems to the masses instead of hijacking someone else's thread IMO. Just PM those you wish to sell your pulleys not posting your for sale items here please... and feel free to start a New thread in the proper section with some size and pricing info along with a picture or two to properly inform the masses of your product! I would be glad to here more about your pulleys if in fact you can make a 2.6 that does not require machining the snout. PM me with some info!
