it comes with a reflash, its always better to get a custom tune. although you must have a wideband to tune. you need to buy a 3 inch catless or catted d/p from zzp with a welded in o2 bung for the wideband. or get a exhaust shop to custom weld in a o2 bung for a wideband. boom

A wideband measures your engines air/fuel ratio. Wideands are ideal to help your tuner get your afr dialed in correctly so your car won't run either too rich or too lean. As far as zzp as a company, I've bought several parts from them and they have great service. Definitely recommend you buy from them if you plan.

Don't get catless. On 99% of exhaust set-up's it sounds like ass.

It's a good kit, I have it. I recommend getting the 2.8" and don't skimp out on the HE. It's not much more so just get the S3 one.

Also, their belt is not a true GM Stage 2 belt (FYI, this is the shorter belt they are talking about. Comes with the GM Stage 2 kit cause of the smaller pulley). It's notorious for chunking. I'd find a real one sometime. www.ottperformance.com sells a similar kit (they are all pretty well the same) and it comes with an actual GM Stage 2 belt.

I agree with canadiancobalt. I went with catless, and really regret it. My car sounds like a tractor. lol.

Don't know about this wideband stuff, i don't have on in my dp.

Very nice kit. Quick shipping. Get the s3 h/e, and have someone custom tune you after you install everything.

when your putting an exhaust system of any sort on a 2.0 n/a or supercharged vehicle its going to sound like ****/honda whatever unless your turbo it. so do whats best for performance and go 3inch catless. what do you want out of it? performance or how it sounds... that shouldnt even be a question tbh

You post that in tons of threads, and are always wrong.

OP. ZZp is a great company. And if you decide to do exhaust, get a catted DP, 2.5" catback, with a quality muffler (magnaflow, borla, corsa) And if you do catless, get a resonator.

i added a second resonator in mine just before the bend before the over axle piece. and besides a little noise from a exhaust leak i love the way it sounds now. I do have a summit 40 series muffler and now their bullet resonator and the stock piping from cat back

Great kit, I have it except I have a custom tune. Also look into Dual Pass, keep Iat's in check. Also....I went catless after having a catted 3" d/p. I love it, I don't know why everyone hates on being catless so much. I have bad-mab and a 3" catless, but with stock catback, maybe thats why I still like being catless. Either way, look into a d/p with the kit, Dual pass, and headers. It will just make the most out of the kit.

Its the combo of header, catless downpipe and aftermarket cat back. Extremely LOUD, and ugly sound. At least my setup is.

I am also looking into getting the ZZP stage 3 kit here soon. I was going to get it with the 2.8, Stage 3 heat exchanger, and the dual pass end-plate. I was also looking into getting the 80# injectors gas tune. Should I go 60. I do plan on modding more in the future. Now I have the GMPP Stage 2 kit, k&n intake and GMPP ctaback exhaust. Also, a little unsure on the oversized tensioner pulley, shorter belt or adjustable tensioner. Still new to owning and modding a Cobalt. Thx for any help.

id go 80's if you say you plan on more mods in the future. id recommend a custom tune on top of all that aswell since the zzp box tune really doesnt do any justice.

I got the ZZP S3 kit and had them install it today. IT'S AMAZING! my car runs great, for having a 2.9 K&N intake and a 2.5 catted dp. I got a S3 H/E and 60lb injectors. i did NOT go dual pass yet, but my IC pump works just fine so i was still under 150 IAT'S on test drive in 90+ weather. Tim did a great job working with me today and explaining everything that I wanted to know. I may have a canned tune so to speak, but it's a new one of theirs built around the injen intake. Ran out of time to dyno it today though, so maybe next time.

i actually bought the stage 3 kit from them last year and i just drove 6 hours there to get tuned by them. their customer service is awesome. and everyone there seemed really cool. for as long as i own my cobalt i will only buy parts from them! i have the 2.9 pulley, 60's and the basic h/e. i wish i would have bought the s3 with my kit. also their intake is bad ass! i also picked one of them up yesterday!

i think he means that after time, the belt starts losing chunks off of it. i know what its like because my belt is doing this. its said that the stage 2 belt from gm is way better then the zzp stage 2 belt.

Being that it was a 35$ option to the kit I'll be very pissed if it does chunk apart, but all the more reason to go to a gates or GMS2 belt anyway. From what Tim told me while I was there, just going with a 3in intake off the bat will yield more power than an exhaust header would have for me. So soon I'll be selling my K&N and 2.5 catted ZZP DP. Going long tube!

Thanks for the help. I just did not understand. and if it starts doing that after time couldnt that hurt ur engine or be bad...for ur pulley and compresser if it chucks apart. ? i paid 44 from zzp for the belt.
now im woundering if i should just go to gm and get there belt it says its a gm stage 2 belt on the site...unless its false advertising.
