I went with the oversized pulley and just notched out the stock tensioner. The stage 2 belts are prone to failure from what I understand.

I have never heard of such a thing.

I have never heard of that. My GM stg 2 belt has over 50,000 miles of running a 2.8. Belt shows zero signs of failure. Boosting 15 lbs over a dozen times a day. Belt was made in 2007 at the latest.

I dont think it really matters what you get. There is no performance difference and they both wear out over years of use. If your blet has cracks then definately go with a new belt otherwise it is up to you.

You will not notice a difference in performance from a belt or a tensioner.

The GMS2 belt will work perfectly fine down to a 2.7" pulley w/o any slipping issues.

If you plan on going below a 2.7" pulley get the adjustable tensioner.
