So i experimented with tapping the cylinder head for M8 today, went pretty much flawlessly, except for the fact that I tapped the cylinder head to the wrong ****** size for M8, as I was reading my crossreference chart for the taps wrong. -_- So now im waiting on a keylock threaded insert kit and tools to come so I can fix the holes and test fit the manifold and spacer on my spare head.

If you knew Luke, you would understand that it might not have been an intentional pun lol. But I'm not sure

Wrong drill size, wound up being a hair too large. Now I gotta drill them out to M12x1.25 for the threaded inserts.

Bolts showed up today. Now I get to go home and play.

I will let you guys know how the shoulder bolts work out.

And I promise not to drill out the threads too big in the head, Spawn

I should've posted these earlier, but I was skimming your thread again and saw your blown up piston. I think when I came and got the wheels I told you about my old Saturn I blew up. Here's how mine looked.... hahaha

har har har lol my threaded inserts showed up today as well so I can get back to work on this. Wasnt able to get to home depot today with the snow, wound up spinning the balt out and doing a 180 into oncoming traffic and slid up into a curb trying to drive my friend home, called it quits after that.

so it turns out the SS radiator is significantly thicker than the base radiator. I was always under the impression that they were the same, but they are not. I even looked up the GM part numbers and they are different, the ss being ~25 more expensive

Is it going to cause any problems? Are you going to use the dual fan setup from an SS too?

Im going to use the single fan. I have the zzp radiator, so I'm not worried about it for myself.

I sent my old radiator to a fellow member with an ss whose radiator was leaking. All the mounting is the same, just the thickness is different. Should only make a mild difference, if any at all.

I might have pulled a spawn -____- lmao

I cut out the alternator leads from the harness because I planned to use my aftermarket alternator with no plugs. Well I just sent an email to the company seeing about swapping it for a 6 rib....

I havent heard back but I checked the site and they dont have an option for the supercharged modes. I'm hoping they can help me out.

The oem alternator needs the harness to "excite" or turn on the voltage regulator, where my aftermarket is self sensing. Whoopsie. Now i'm just watching my email for hopefully good news haha

What header/downpipe do you have? I'm debating going with either the regular shorty or the midlength from ZZP. I'm thinking midlength would be overkill for me, but I found a nicely priced used one.

The entire wires are pulled. He said the only reason is that they spin backwards and the cooling fan wont work as efficiently. but if I'm not putting it under super high load, it should be fine. Hes sending me a pulley

I have the ottp longtubes.

If I were you I would just try to grab a ss/sc downpipe for cheap. the 07-08 l61 manifolds are nicer than the pre 07. If you plan to go s/c in the future you could get a shorty and 2.5" downpipe, or the midlength, but if you are planning on staying n/a, just find a downpipe.

The power differences will be minimal, but the price difference is a lot
