15 sec cobalt coupe auto...

We just got a few cobalt coupes at our dealership and one of my co-workers had a g-tech meter in his truck so we'd gave it a try in the ol' cobalt which was auto mind you but heres the results. We got a 15.9@87. NOt too bad, but being that it was auto, the take off kinda sucked. we didnt stall it up or nothing, just mashed the gas. what yall think ?

Thats pretty good and doesn't surprise me at all. I watched a stock 4dr auto cavy with a ecotec (2004) do a 15.77 last year (it was a rental car) so once that cobalt gets broken in, it should be even faster

Awesome! Hopefully with header back exaust and intake it will be in the lower 15s. Peppy car it sounds! With the shifter how it is, you can easily put the car in neutral and launch it at higher RPMs probably run a 15.7-15.8 or so.

uhm....thats not a good idea at all---putting in nuetral reving and dropping into drive. But if you want to break your car--go ahead

Like i said earlier, i cant justify the gtech's accuracy. it might be off by a few tenths...

whoa, 15.9? Now, i have a question...

one of these nights i wanna bring my stock cobalt to the track to see what it gets, but what octane should i use? someone told me 91 octane is good, but it can wear the engine... i dunno.

anyways, whoa, 15.9, thats way faster than the road&track's 16.6!

the gtech isnt 100% accurate anyways

i ran a 16.6 completely stock
if you do go, lower your tire pressure to 22 psi, i bet that will yield low 16's

and since your motor is made for 87 octane, use that
there is no need to run 91 in a car tuned for 91
