2.2 to 2.0 header problem
A tune can turn it off too, then you get some power and better fueling, no PE delay, etc....
NJ is also a state that adopted the CARB laws.

FOR THE LOVE OF CHARLES KETTERING, can we please stop talking about SAI anywhere but the suspension threads!?!?!?!?!?
SAI IS not an emissions system.
SAI is not the same as AIR.
SAI is not an abbreviation or acronym for anything used on a Cobalt.
The Secondary Air Injection Reaction system on the Balt is called AIR, just like it has been for years.
SAI is steering Axis Inclination and its not adjustable on the Cobalt, so not really any reason to see it mentioned in anything other than a custom suspension thread.
Running without the system active, with or without a tune for it, wont affect drivability or engine longevity in any discernably way. AIR is strictly a cold start emissions abatement measure. Injecting fresh air into the hot exhaust helps to get any unburned fuel droplets to react and burn, heating up the catalyst as quick as possible so there is a minimum of untreated exhaust. This is the easy/cheap way to avoid having catalyst heaters(something come down the pike as we speak)
to d4u2s0t: EGR and SAI are both emissions control devices, but they work on completely different principals. I wouldnt exactly say they're the same thing.
You really can't take the car to the dealer to remove the SAI code, simply because the code is attached to the VIN (or something along those lines that adam/NJHK told me) and it would be illegal to do so. Basically, unless you know the tech personally, he probably wont risk his job to hook you up just out of the kindness of his heart. That being said, Trifecta CAN tune out this CEL, but their tunes cost $250. If you spend the money on the tune, you might as well get your whole system tuned. Personally, i just drove around with the CEL for 6 months until i got my car tuned. Didnt bother me, and it doesnt affect any performance or lifespan of the car.
