Lol, and some people consider boost as a cheap replacement for displacement. I personally love boost !!

anyone ever thought about swapping the ECU from an 07 into a 05 or 06? seems possible. all the components are the same only the actually tune or maps on the ECU is different. probably wouldn't be worth the hassle, but may also help us if the 07 get tuning available to them.

ahhhh, i have. however...what about those of us who want turbo. there's no tuning for the 07's. just keep this in mind like how i did. i thought of this forever ago, and i thought of building str8 engine, but, how much r u gonna actually get from an all engine 2.2 with high compression pistons, forged everything, and every bolt-on possible...maybe in the low 200's max. so i'd stray from that idea...

he obviously had a dry shot which is a NO NO! we also have plastic manifolds, and as we know plastic cannot handle extremes in temperature. as far as the fast and the furious...lmao! U nvr use nitrous for top end. Nitrous is meant to get through ur gears faster, no to go shift, shift, shift, shift, shift (shift if u have the 6 spd ) then nitrous. lmao...u go shift, spray, let off, shift, spray, let off...etc... wet shots and direct port is the way to go with nitrous. i'm not a big fan however, it is a good attribute for few and far uses. also, if he was running anything over a 75 shot... .

nooooo, a camaro f-body with a 383 stroker is teh sex. or an 86 monte carlo with the 383 stroker. yes, i have helped with the builds of both. and yes, the numbers are amazing, something like 500 whp with 650 tq that was on the monte with a custom cam. the camaro is something like 450 whp, 500 tq. both are amazing, . i plan on re-building my dad's first car for his 55th b-day. a 69 impalla with the 327. it was a custom order some old guy had n then didn't like, so my dad bought it for like, 500 bucks back in 1977. he blew the engine in about 2-3 months. from what he said, he used to smoke the 396 in the camaro's. i think thats what some came stock with. not really sure if it was the 396, or the 350? mighta even been the 305 4 barrell carb? lol. not too sure when it comes to the olden days. :-)

a failed window switch caused that...

a window switch determines when the nitrous activates/de-activates

lets say the "window" to spray nitrous is normally in between 3200-6300RPM. His failed causing the nitrous to spray prematurely and once he started to take off...BAM! explosion...thats not the fault of nitrous though.

if you are supercharged and one of your injectors goes static and you run lean and blow your motor you don't blame the supercharger.

cobalt_driver the 07 ECU seem to have a better tune out of the factory. as far as tuning for any F/I, n2o or str8 motor the 05-06 have been left in the dump by HP tuners pretty much and the 07 might have a chance. So doing a swap might help those who need/want to have a tune when it becomes available. The turbo kit by garret is only good for the 05-06 cobalts but only the manual tranny. So again the autos are stuck too.

he still had to pay for the repair so it doesnt matter what caused the problem. this is the reason i do not have nitrous!

you're missing the point...a hardware failure caused his problem.

hardware failures can happen with any form of power adder. just the nature of modding...

besides hes on to bigger and better things now...
