2.2 2005 Cobalt Misfire. Please Help!!!

I have a 2005 cobalt and I have just recently had it in the shop for a transmission shutter. However after I took my car to the shop for the same problem for the 10th time, we noticed my car was idling rough. When the mechanic plugged the scanner in the computer, it came up as a misfire in Solenoid 2. However the car does not throw a check engine light. which is odd. So after the 10th time we finally found what was wrong with and it wasn't the transmission at all.

I took my car to the shop and the tried to fix the problem and called tech-support and they also talked to an engineer and they said there is nothing they can do to fix my car. The engineer said that he has the same problem and and only he can make it happen. That is my case too. Only I can make this happen. The people at gm told the dealership that they fixed my problem, but good thing they didn't listen and told me the truth. But I can't believe they wanted to lie to me.

So here is my question after my rant. Any idea how I can fix my engine misfire in Solenoid 2? I know there is something that will fix it. But also if there is a misfire, why does the check engine light not come on? Please help!

First check the wiring to coil and if the wiring is fine replace the coil-pack. On another note did you check the spark plug to make sure there wasnt anything wrong with it?

The dealer said they checked the spark plugs and they are fine. so at this point I have to take there word for it because I have not been able to check it myself. I plan on doing it this weekend. They also said that they checked all of my coils and they are all fine, but they didn't say anything about the wiring. I am just going off of what they said and I am not happy with them telling me that there is nothing they can do to my car because it is not throwing a light, but clearly on the computer it said that solenoid 2 was misfiring. It actually misfired 58 times on our trip. We had the reader plugged in the entire time that's how I know how many times it misfired. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you.

Spark plugs are cheap try replacing them. But first check the cylinder 2 coilpack wiring and make sure it is messed up also check the connector to make sure its making contact maybe some conductive grease on the prongs inside the electrical connector could help.
