2.2 Owners with Trifecta Tuning
2.2 Owners with Trifecta Tuning
How many 2.2 guys on here have had their's tuned by Vince at Trifecta?? Im going to be jumping on this as soon as he has the 07 tune available. So far I just have the K&N SRI and the magnaflow muffler, prob getting full catback before the tune. Also its a 5 spd...what kind of gains have you guys seen, or what can I expect from the tune?
nice man thanks. I was also looking at swapping out the 2.4 Manifold before getting the tune as well but im not quite sure about that yet. I asked a parts guy at the stealership about whether or not the SS/SC exhaust would bolt directly up and he said it wouldn't. Is that true? If it does bolt up I might just go that route with my exhaust
all model cobalt exhausts can be swapped. the ss will fit.
but check out the tsudo exhaust on neverenoughauto.com. its cheap, stainless 304 steel, and sounds amazing: look it up on youtube

someone correct me please. This is the site?

also if that is it y does it not say the cobalt or am i missing it.
Wonder when the 08 tunning comes out. Is it worth it if im almost stock? Just a CAI has been done. Looking to gain a few more ponies and mileage.
is this something that can be done by yourself or should someone do it for you like Vince

so is this kinda a tune like hpt. I just thought we 2.2's only had piggy back systems. if it is could it be used to dail in a 2.2 with a m62? if so i might look into getting one, never wanted to before just cuz it could never be tuned right.
and it doesn't list the cobalts on the trifecta site because they haven't added it yet...but i assure you that they have tunes for the cobalts...the 07 2.2 tune was tested on sunday and was a complete success. i posted the dyno sheet in this thread
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-2l-l61-performance-tech-45/07-tuners-116695/
Page 2...and i gave some info about the pull and run and what was done during the tune...warren tested it..but i posted the info that Vince gave me....have fun!
Love my tune. Hopefully I can get back on the dyno soon. I dynoed 140hp before the tune and catback on a mustang dyno. I'm hoping for 150-155hp but it does seem like it may be more. (crosses fingers)
Would like to get a tune once I go ahead and modify the car...
Just dynoed Saturday...124whp and 134wtq.
28k Miles, probably could use new plugs, as it looks like the coils have never been off the engine, thus the plugs would be stock...but I'd have to pull them off to check 'em.

well i got my 07 2.2l tuned with a 2.4 intake manifold, k&n intake, 2.5 "cat back exsaughts, and with the tune i could tell a lil diff, all my friends can tell but i rely cant lol, maybe becasue i was expecting more lol, fuel went up it says i get 42 instead of 38 so thats sick.but any way vince is bad ass good customer service he was helping me out until midnight awsome guy, tell him scott from wyoming say whats up lol.
Can he lock the gears out so when I put it in second it stays there?
It caused problems when dynoing, because, despite being in second (it's an auto), it would downshift at too low RPM when I nailed it, and upshift at high RPMs...

If you need to dyno an auto you put it in 3rd(not second) and to keep it in third you either disconnect the 20way connector at front of trans or pull the 10a ECM/TRANS fuse in the underhood fuse block.
