I let off the throttle, I might have been able to go faster, but I wasnt about to, I didnt hit or feel any limit whatsoever, please keep in mind i have an Auto which 4th gear is even lower than the 5th gear on a five speed which, in theory, could go faster than a manual at the same RPM. Like i said, i didnt hit any limit at all, up until i let off the throttle i was still accelerating, slowly, but surely

I hit 140 in my 2.2 auto on I-71 in Ny .....I thought I maxed out at 130 but kept up and it took a extra 2-3 minn to get to 140 ....

I have no Limiter and pirellis so I am guessing thats why?

 

i have opened up my cobalt at times. my top ive done is 135. no mods at all. the only thing i have is a strut bar. i raced my buddy with his is250 and we wer both doing 135 to see how the top end is on our cars. i have a fully loaded 05 ls coupe. it seems like other cant hit that high..that kinda sucks

back on topic, my fastest was about 110... then i realized how stupid it was to be driving that fast... then i realized that i've only made 5 payments on my car... then i realized that any ******* can switch lanes and i'd hit him doing a buck 10...

needless to say, i slowed down

 

I have a 2006 HHR with the 2.2L and my speed gov's out at 110mph. Trying to find out where to get it reprogramed. SHe has lots of pep left in her, but the computer stops it.

Whats the point in going that fast though really? If your in that big of a hurry, you seriously need to reconsider your time management skills. I have hit 65mph, although... my car still has in transit stickers

D4u2 Stop hating you ***** bag.... I hit 140 in my car just cus u max out at 110 in your 15 inch bridgestone tires u dumb ****.....Speed limters and tires can make a huge difference

 

he's not a dumb ****, he's right. 90% of the people who hit their limiter don't need to. in essence, you only push your car on a track (1/4 mile or road course). considering 1/4 mile is more popular, lets see how many of you guys can even trap close to 100 in the 1/4. I bet it's enough to count on one hand.

there are a lot of shitty drivers out there, and none of them should have the ability to go even close to 110, let alone 140 area

 

Personal fastest, 100 mph going South I-19 with my stepdad. During the "break-in" process.

I didn't want to go any faster. And I wasn't cut off by the speed limiter, I just felt like I shouldn't be going that fast.

 

i can only hit 105mph

 

whle my car was breaking in.. i only got like 115... not limited just wouldnt go faster..
about 2 months ago raced a 03 si on the highway and got to 130 and it wouldnt go anymore... needless to say, i havent been over 80 since then.. there really is no point

i just did 138 today on ocean parkway by the beaches. i ran a 96 V6 camaro. i blew passed him and he cudnt catch up..thats wut u get when u have a old engine..but he didnt look stock at all. yay for my 2.2..its underated..and it kills maaad cars.
