2.2 throttle body spacer?

ive done research on this site and other forums and im not really finding what im searching for, so maybe you guys and gals could give me some info. i was wondering where (if availiable) i could find a throttle body spacer for my 2007 2.2 ls. i know ottp has one, but im not sure if it works for the 2.2 or only for the ss/sc/tc? also, could someone let me know if a throttle body spacer would really benefit our engine and if it does, how much? also could someone please explain to me exactly what a throttle body spacer does...ive heard it speeds the airflow movement up into the throttle body?? sorry for the questions.

the only mod i have is a k&n typhoon intake, im trying to gain a little more cheap power
thanks

A tb spacer changes the lenth of the intake runners longer runners make more torque at lower rpm. Shorter runners make more high rpm power. Thats a short version. Its kind of complicated. Try googleing it.

throttle body spacers dont work...
i saw a study on it once and they showed that you would need a spacer of almost one foot in length to even have measurable results.

Well... youre right about our engines but not entirely right about TBI or carbed setups.
On those it gives more room for the fuel+air to mix which is the downfall on those systems. Usually they will starve one or more cylinders of fuel causing it to run lean. A TB spacer(or carb spacer for carbed engines) allows for more fuel to reach the formerly lean cylinder(s) causing lower temps, increased downward thrust on the piston, and more power all around...On a non vortech 4.3l TBI engine with 150k miles a 1" tbspacer gained 7 HP and 12 tq(granted it only had 132hp/135tq in the condition it was in).

Word, I just didnt want someone to take what you said and apply it to all engines. Figured I would clarify a little.
