2.4 mani problem
2.4 mani problem
Ok, so I tried to search but it wouldn't find anything for me. So I'll ask you guys here.
I've had a 2.4 mani on my 2.2 for about a year now, no problems with no tune either. So the other day a buddy of mine does the swap, and his CEL comes on. We check it and its throwing the P0171 code, saying its running lean. Would the 2.4 mani cause that? Thanks in advance.

my vote isss your moving in more air into the engine then what it stock would do thus making it run more lean(more air compared to the same fuel) i got that code too i dont think hes running dangerously lean by any means at all the computer is just picking up on it a tune will fix it but im sure your fine. it could be any one of what other people said too i suppose but from my experience thats what it was

ANY lean is too lean unless you have a wideband and can check
i would check ALL fittings, and im willing to bet its the break booster hose, and then reset the codes by unplugging the battery for a few min...if it comes back then get a code reader and double check everything
? for you, what year balt and did you use/need an adapter plate for the tb???
playing it with :i dont think it is too lean: will get your nothing but a blown engine...
