any header will work if you dont have sai. but it all depends on what rpm range you wantin the power to be in. short gives you power in the low rpm mid lenght gives it in the mid rpm and long gives the top end power.. i would say go with the zzp header down pipe combo though.. it seems to be bout the best and thats what im bout to get too.

Reverse those. I used to think that too, but after a little research I found out the opposite is true.

But like yellow said, where do you want your power band?

Get them from ZZP.

They are in the supporting vendor index.

Well, you can't go wrong by saying the midlength will help your midrange. lol

I think the movement of the powerband with a header has to do largely with resonance, which I'm not completely clear about.

Dont go with the DC Sports, it was designed back in the day for the cavalier, and IMO and other cavalier owners not worth it.

You can also check out Pacesetter and the Vibrant header/down pipe/high flow cat setup @ www.TurboTechRacing.com

But don't you have to cut your downpipe for the pacesetter? Is there any other header that bolts to the factory downpipe?

yeah ca has one but if your gonna put a header on why keep the stock down pipe? you wont see much of an improvement doin that cuz your opening up the header by puttin it on then funneling it all back down goin through the factory dowm pipe and restrictive as hell cat... get the header down pipe combo and be done wit it..

I've got an LSJ downpipe, it's quite an improvement from my puny ls donwpipe. Plus i dont want to spend a lot on a header dp combo.

I have the ZZP header and downpipe installed on my car.

It makes a VERY noticable difference in power both low end and upper RPM range.

I had to have it modified to fit the 2.2 by flattening the first runner though since it's not designed for our cars as I found out during the install.

After being made to fit I am very pleased with it.

I don't throw a CEL either.

Here are some pics.

Is it the V1 or V2? Because i have read that the V1 won't quite fit right on our cars, and that the V2 has too large of a collector to be of any use.

its the V1... itll fit 06 and newer 2.2s with just a little dent in the coolant line that goes from the thermostat housing to the firewall. (the 05s with the newer style motor mount should fit too... i got the older style)
