Forgot to use my calculator..
LS weight in at 2730 (Thanks to GM) you would need roughly 156whp to pull a 90.13 trap ..the LS comes with 145 crank Hp.

yeah the more i think about this... it would mean that the CAI alone added roughly 25hp to the WHEELS to achieve that time; which is impossible. im starting to think you had a lot more than CAI done when you ran that 15.26.... or your car can somehow slow time... or your track was built on a 20 degree downhill slope....

^ I'm not saying he didn't run that time ..I'm saying he didn't run that time with just an intake.Like I posted he would need almost 160whp for the trap posted...

im not saying that either, i know the 2.2 CAN achieve that time, but not with a CAI alone.. its just physically impossible.

...and im counting the seconds until the high school girl like reply

There have been some freak of cars out there to do the unthinkable. I've been on the Alero forums for 4 years now because that's what I used to have and thats why I got into the Ecotec engine, and a guy on there had a 5spd 2 door coupe Alero and ran a 15.14, not sure of the trap but that is what he ran with a CAI and catback exhaust only.

15.21 @ 88.21 is what the guy on aleroforums ran with his 2 door Alero with CAI and catback exhaust. The same guy went out and bought an 06 Cobalt SS 2.4 and ran 15.05 @ 94.91, so I'd say he is a great driver.

You're talking about a 170hp V6..correct?

Hitting a 15.05 stock in a car thats rated a 15.70 by professional drivers?

170hp v6? The guy hit a 15.21 in his 5spd 2 door Alero with a CAI and catback exhaust, it was the 2.2 Ecotec. And he ran a 15.05 in an 06 Cobalt SS with the 2.4.

And there aint nothing professional about magazine drivers and testers of cars.

Haha, we talk about how a 2.2 LS that weight 1730lbs with 145crank hp couldn't hit a 15.26 with just an intake...
so your friends 2.2 Alero with 140 crank hp that weighs in at 2962lbs hit a 15.21 with a catback and an CAI?? Thats even worse.
Post the link with a slip.

I dont think you seriously meant to say that a Cobalt LS only weighs 1730lbs, LOL. I believe they weigh around 2900lbs. And before you argue with me, go over to aleromod forums and ask MikeSS about it.

I think you should go with a Cat-back exhaust, Cold air or short ram air intake, and a 2.4 intake manifold.. Its maybe alittle 500 bucks but you would see the best gains with that setup..

Where can you find these 2.4 intake manifolds for sale and how much are they?

ideas

I woud advise that you get the exhaust first...as I understand it you don't want to shove air into the thing and not be able to get it all out. I'm going to get the Megan Racing Drift Spec Exhaust - It says it is for the SS, but it should fit 2.2L applications

http://www.meganracing.com/products/...d=534&catid=90

As far as CAI goes, I recommend AEM, then perhaps Injen..I believe AEM's tech is just a little better, so pay the same amount of money and perhaps you'll gain and extra horse or two with AEM

http://advancedjdmparts.com/search.php

After these, you may consider manifold upgrades, bare in mind that most intake manifolds are more expensive than exhaust manifolds, but allowing the air to move through the motor better can only add a few more horses...the next idea would be a high flow cat...with these mods you could easily be looking at a 30+ hp gain

I would just do all three at the sametime.. You would be spending alot at once but the gains would be very noticeable..

Ever consider trading in for a SS/SC? I'm sure by the time you add full bolt-ons to a 2.2 it will probably cost close to the same as the SS and still be slower than a stock one.

I've seen several 07-08 LS' and LT's for under 13k. Maybe not brand new with 0 miles, but under 10k miles on them. I've seen quite a few SS/SC for under 16k with low miles, but there are only a couple within an hours drive of where I live.
