I have a 2.2 2007 Balt, I recently cleaned the TB with throttle body cleaner. I remeoved the whole TB then cleaned it. One thing i forgot to do was disconnect the battery and now that my i cleaned it my Idle is around 2000 Rpm and when i am driving it cruises at 30mph , its like i have cruise control. Dont know what to do now besides replace the sensor on the intake manifold. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like when you were cleaning the TB you damaged it...on a drive-by-wire TB you don't want to manually move the throttle blade much if any.

 

have you tired disconnecting the battery since? leave the bat disconnected for like 10 or so mins. so the computer clears itself then see what it does when you hook it back up.

 

Did you mess with the butterfly valve or just remove the whole TB and spray it down? I've removed the TB many times and haven't had any problem.

 

Thanks to you guys who responded and your advice. Well crap I did remove it and I did put a little force on the Valve so i think thats what did it, but anyways i ended up putting my 2.4 TB on since i had it laying around so now its back to normal. Thanks for your input
