Auto Vs. Manual

Was wondering I have a 07 2.2 auto cobalt but really want a manual but they dont make them in the LT. Would it be better to have a stick then auto and how much do u think it will cost to get manual locks and windows. Or should I just keep the auto and it has a b&m shiftplus already installed.Just some feed back

They both have their good and bad points but what you need to consider is what are you gonna be doing with the car on a daily basis? Driving in heavy traffic or open country roads? Are you a serious racer and need the manual? or do you shair the car with someone who doesn't know how to drive a stick?

Manuals can be a blast on back windy open roads but after sitting for 2 hours and only having gone a mile can really suck ass in a manual car.

Automatics can be easy to drive but it sucks ass to be left at the line by a riced out civic because you couldn't leave hard enough.

You just need to figure out what YOU need more. We can't do that for you.

BTW you know this is one of those questions that starts arguements don't you?

If you can't live without it, trade it. But trading a brand new car will cost you in the bank account. Even if it only has 500 miles, would probably get $4000 less than what you paid. It only makes $ sense to buy a car if you are going to keep it for a long time. leasing is good for short term.

The ONLY one you cannot get a manual in is an LT3 you can still get a manual in the LT1 and LT2 trim levels. I know cause i work at a dealership and ordered a Sport Red Tinitcoat LT2, but the dealership wanted/needed to sell it to someone else that wanted a 4door manual and i got a better deal on my LS, plus my purpose for the LS changed to being an all out autocross car.

give me your zipcode an i can locate the nearest LT 5speeds

You can still race an auto.
You may be a bit heavier than a stick, and your transmission will sap more power, but your runs will be consistent all night long. You will never "MISS" a shift in an auto, which can make all the difference in the world.

Keep what you have. You will have to waste a lot of money at this point to change things. Your car should soon be supported by HP Tuners which has transmission tuning parameters. That will get you what you want, but the stock program is fine.

i love my 5spd..in the open road. fun as hell to drive

morning drive to county college...is terrible. i avoid heavy traffic from 4-7pm at all costs

bottom line..ss/sc is getting benched for daily driving/bad weather/winter when my dad gets his caddy and i can take that concorde off his hands
