bolt on supercharger

i found a site when i was randomly searching and there was some products for the 2.2L. I havent heard of the company so i dont know how good the products are. It says gains of 60 horses, which will put us right up where the s/c is. but 60 horses is not worth 3500 for me. i could get a stage 3 turbo which would boost me about 100 hp for $800 less. just thought id post the site anyway.

That kit you would be so fortuante that it works to begin with. RSM has made some crappy kits before for cars. Some of the horror stories I heard from the Cavailer forum board I roam once in a while is a fine example.

That is indefinitly a big waste of money IMO.

uve read horror stories, probably their old kits. but about 2 years ago they redid alot of things and now kits are excellent quality. every new kit thats been installed has proven low 14's in the 1/4 consistantly and this is w/ only 8psi. so not to shabby. one thing they dont include in the kit which i think they should is a new intank fuel pump. hell sell the kit for an extra 500 or 600 and include pump, injectors, and msd. and that kit would be a solid kit.

BOV's are for turbos only!

They do not work with SuperChargers

on ones of that style they do, they need to relieve the pressure since the blower is before the throttle body in the tract, as opposed to after like the Eaton on the LSJ

RSM has always been over priced. But they're still in biz so I guess someone out there buys their products...

but who?

that's a good question, I have NEVER seen a car with any of their products on it, especially the supercharger kit.

I know of one RSM supercharged Grand Am that runs around Toronto.

But he's sponsored.

The RSM kit has been in retail production for nearly a year now. Its nothing new.

The Cobalt supercharger doesn't use a BOV. It's not set up that way. By the way, you should have probably made you own thread about such a topic. Jumping into another persons discussion with an off topic coversation is called hijacking.

If you wish to add power to the Cobalt Supercharger, check out the many threads in the 2.0L forum about the stage kit upgrades from both GM and aftermarket manufacturers.

Heard of people getting sent the wrong parts, and their parts not being shipped in a timely manner.

RSM installs all of their stuff and they charge a pretty hefty price. For what you get horsepower wise and quality wise, it is nowhere near being with it.

You'd have to run a centrifugal type s/c to use a bov. The wine you get from the twin screw sounds better anyway.

IMO, you get what you pay for. You buy a cheap kit from a relatively small company then you're going to have problems. If you want the bad-ass kit that gives you a crap-load of horsepower, bolts on without any trips to the parts store, never breaks etc., you're going to have to dig deep in your pockets.

i would go with the supercharger because they last longer then the turbocharger. The turbochargers are cheaper 2. The place where u guys were looking at the supercharger at one point it was only 3800 now its 4800 and is way overprinced, you can go off and buy a 2.0L s/c crate engine for a couple hundred less.

2 things OrangeSS;

1. this thread is about a supercharger that rsm racing is selling, so any unrelated topics such as blow off valves, cold air intakes, and exhausts belong in their appropriate threads.

2. do a search before posting because even your unrelated topics have been covered.

we are all new to the forums at some point. if you have any questions on the above feel free to private message me.

RSM Racing's supercharger has been available for some time, i would be a little uneasy about spending so much on a supercharger though, seeing as you could buy a gude turbo kit for about the same price.
