cams

heres my ? i have a 06 balt with a 2.2 obviously and i blew the engine bout 8 months ago. i had it replaced with a 2.2 that i think came out of a cavi since it had the lowest miles of the used engine i could find. anyways im wantin to get stage one 05-06 cobalt cams and i need to know if they will work in the head on this engine? im not 100% sure its a cavi engine either thou. i know the end of the head closest to the tranny is defferent than the one that was on the OE engine so thats why im askin. would it work??

i have no idea. i had a mechanic find the motor for me since he could get better deals on it. everythin on the motor looks the same except that one end of the head. the end of the OE head was almost flat where the 5 galley plugs are and the one i have now has things comin off of it that was made in the casting.

imma try to find some kinda pics to show the difference right fast

The cams im selling are sold as:

Competition Cams Chevrolet Cavalier/Cobalt 2.2L Ecotec 2002-06

So as long as it was a 2002-2004 cav, they should fit fine.

Yes, you can put STG1 cams in a Cavalier L61 head. The extra part on your current head is the unused EGR provisions(It was used in the UK)

I have a set of stage 2 L61 cams for sale.

75 wet shot probably was too much

If it is a cavalier 2.2L ecotec 2002-05 OR a Cobalt 2.2L ecotec 2005-06 the cams we carry by comp cams will be a direct fit up.

thanks maven just the answer i needed.

i actually dont know what happened when the engine blew. i wasnt runnin it hard and hadnt been that mornin when it popped. i think i may have been tachin around 3.5k passin a big truck on the interstate when it happened. and yes i had ran nitrous on that engine before but it had been around two months since i had sprayed it last.
