if I only gain like 5HP, I'll keep it at 7500RPM.

now I gotta figure out what the hell, I'm going to do with the stock springs and retainers lol
anyone have any ideas?
Put them in a box ready to send to the guy who blows everthing up because he wanted the inexpensive way to build 400hp

back to the tuning cam discussion. your right you won't get the full potential of installing the cams without a tune, but you don't when you install any other bolt on without tuning. i think it's well worth installing without tuning right after. especially if you plan on doing more mods. i don't know much about the ecotec's but the qr25 in the spec v's make 8-10whp with the cam swaps without a tune and top end power is amazing. fully bolted spec v's only gain 5whp max from getting tuned on a dyno. every little bit helps but 5whp is hardly worth dyno time costs and tuning troubles. ectotec might react differently to cams. the ecu may have a harder time excepting them, but on most cars a tune isn't needed to make decent gains. plus at this point theres nothing to tune a 2.2 with anyways so i would get the cams and once i'm done moding finish with some tuning to squeeze out some power. assuming by that time something will be out.

true you'll still make power, but I was tring to worn people not to get an agressive cam without tuning.

if I don't run the by-pass mod, I actually lose the power I had in the last 1000RPM because the by-pass valve bleeds all my boost.

I know this wouldn't be an issue with the 2.2's because they don't have the suppercharger, but the reason my boost is blead, is because the car starts to run too lean.

so an agressive my lean out the car to much, which is iven more dangerous, for the 2.2 because they can't bleed any of the intake pressure.

besides with a good tune, they'd might see double the gains then without.
