Question cel after fujita cai install

I installed the Fujita cai on my 2.2 l61. After the installed within 10 miles the cel came on. p0171 lean mixture fault. I checked for proper install of maf sensor which was good. no vacuum leaks. I had no problems before the install, so I know that this is causing it. Is this common of fujita cai? or cai in general. Does this just require ecu tuning? Thanks

i know anything above 14.7 a/f ratio will cause overheating. does anyone have any ideas to eliminate this problem. Does other cai cause this same problem, or is it just the fujita?

I have had both a K&N and the Injen CAI on my cobalt, no check engine light, no problems at all

I have Injen convertable myself, never had an issue. I haven't kept up on or really even looked for CEL issues with FUJITA intakes. I would search the 2.2 section and/or google it to see if anyone else had that problem. I would not think you need to be tuned after an intake though (on a 2.2).

I had the same issue with my Weapon R (which is terrible quality btw). As soon as it was on, I got the lean code, and the car was idling at 1300-1800 rpm constantly. I had it taken in to a tech shop. They made me replace the stock system. No change. they cleared the codes, and oddly enough it ran like a dream. Still won't drop rpm's when I'm shifting half the time, but that's another set of codes, and most likely a computer error or vaccum leak somewhere. i think?

What does this do? I have a fujita on mine too. all was good for 8 months or so after I installed it but now i have a cel on too. Pretty sure its the same code as above and people said the gas cap wasn't replaced right after refueling? (three clicks) but i always make sure it clicks at least three time and the code still hasn't gone away after unplugging the battery too.

Hahahaha gas cap? Not the problem.

Disconnect your battery! Plug it back in. Should remove the code for good.

Heyy that's what members on here suggeted lol but I did the battery thing and still got a cel. It cleared it but came back on. So I did some hunting and took the headlight and bracket out to find a dirty dirty air filer. So I put the stock air cleaner back on yesterday ans no more cel so far. When I get a new filter the Fujiyama will probably go back on though.

I just got my Trifecta tune, put the Weapon-R on a couple hours later, and the cel came on. I'll get it pulled tomorrow, then have it cleared when I datalog again. I guess that's a good thing if I'm flowing that much air.
