Cleaning throttle body?

I am cleaning my cold air intake and replacing the filter right now because it was filty from the previous owner. Ive noticed that the car has a generaly rough idle and has a bad surge at start up. I need to clean the maf (spelling?) sensor and the throttle body. Does anyone have any tips? Ive had a 2000 Grand prix and I just sprayed the throttle body cleaner inside and let it drain a few times. But I would like to do it proper with this car. Any tips? Thanks!

Im also about to replace the spark plugs with some new ac delcos, but ive got a haynes manual for that

Just spray it with throttle body cleaner (not a ton, just enough to loosen stuff up). If the stuff you bought didn't come with a swab, just wipe it out with a rag after it has set for a few seconds. Repeat as necessary until it's clean. You may want to clean out the intake manifold and injectors too...get the whole fuel system done in one shot.
