Code thrown!!
so a cel came on on the dash and i went to autozone to get it read and the guy working there told me that the ecm threw two codes one for the fuel recirculation and another for the air/fuel ratio being too lean. I have an 07 2.2L and I only have a fujita cai on my car right now, but have been putting 93 gas in my car the past few times,i usually put 87, and now when i put gas in i have to hit the pedal when i start it because the car wants to stall and does stall if i don't do that. It ONLY does this when i put gas in my car, any other time it starts normally, any comments on what is happening?

well, the light is on again, i'll probably stop by autozone again and have them read the codes again, but i'll write them down this time for you guys. and no, no rough idle or anything, my car still runs normal in every other aspect except for when i put gas in it, i have to hit the gas when starting her right after i get gas or she dies and doesn't want to start again. other than that she starts and runs normally, maybe it has something to do with the gas tank depressurizing?? oh, and the cai has been on for 5,000 miles maybe. think it may need to be cleaned?

ok, so I just got back from advenced auto and the code thrown is a P0496 EVAP emissions control system. the guy said its from the gas tank not being sealed good, he said turn it so it clicks three times.

cool thanks, i've been getting my gas in jersey recently too, and you can't pump your own gas there, so i'm assuming the guy pumping it just hasn't been doing the three clicks.
you're lean code is most likely from your intake, p0171 i'm guessing. Check all the intake connections and make sure they are tight. The other code, not sure until you get the number...and you don't need to be putting 93 in your car, it has no benefits to you.
no, it's not preference, and no, it doesn't run better with 93. Just wasting your money. there's no reason to run any higher octane than what the car is tuned for. Anything more is a complete waste, with zero benefit. the car doesn't want to start properly, why?? think about what's different lately.
that evap code is prolly 99% your intake couplers not being tightened down enough...i had the same code happen to me took it to the dealer and all cuz i thought it was the gas tank to turned out i had to re tighten the coupler around my throttle body the clamp needed to be moved down a few cm.
