Comparison - Bu' With a Balt's Heart and Brain?

G'day all.

Yes. I dont drive a balt.. I drive a malibu. With 3 kids, a balt is just too small unfortunatly.

I have a 2k4 Chevy Malibu (Epsilon Chassis) with the L61 Ecotec. And Ive been finding some similarities between the two, same engine, electric power steering, electronic throttle control (?), etc.

As you have probably guessed, the aftermarket for any malibu is small, and for the epsilons its pretty much non existent, however If I can get your guys help, I can solve the biggest headache of this car, the PCM.

There are 2.2L parts out there from many manufacturers but there is no definitive solution for tuning the malibus. Each engine offered has its own PCM, and I am led to believe the L61 has the same PCM as the cobalt.

Basically I called the local $tealer$hip, and was assured that the cobalts pcm and the 'bu's are the exact same part, just different programming. I don't trust my local dealership, so I figured I'd ask the cobalt guys if someone has a pic of their PCM so I can compare the two. If they are the same part, the piggyback systems should install similarly, and if a solution like HPtuners comes out, it might just work the same.

I do have some engine bay, and underneath pics if it will help.

Thanks In advance, howie.
