100 c is 212 f

your temperatures are within operating spec.

I'm told a tune from trifecta lowers your engine coolant temp to 160 as another PCM mod Pretty neat I think

These cars are finr to run in the upper 200 degrees. If you see above 250 CONSTANTLY then you should start worrying.

But yes 200 degrees is fine in the ecotecs.

That's pretty damn low man. Normal operating temp on these cars should be right around 90 Celcius while driving.

not really.
90* C would actually be high enough to engage the fans.

during cruising im always in the 80s unless its a scorching hot day.

Just curious, but how does a tune lower your coolant temp other than having the fans turn on earlier? Even with my fans on earlier, I still need a 160 stat in to make the gauge lower.

90 Celcius is right around 190 Farenheit......these cars most likely have a 190 thermostat, so that's the normal operating temp.

I always thought the fans started at 100.

yeah see I live in america...and so I use the Fahrenheit system....no no jk jk..........I like fahrenheit because its a little more detailed than celcius....but yeah I usually ran 189 or 192 stock on the freeway here and up to 219 on the streets till the fan kicks on and lowers it back to 192....my cooling mods have dropped it down to about 180-185 on the freeway though.....although thermostat is kicking in and out of working right now on the dash display...figure I might get a 160 should it really go **** up....

220 is fine.

Gets that hot on purpose to help burn cleaner while idling.

Usually 86*C. You should be fine on a long drive as air will constantly be rushing through the grill opening. But just for peice of mind check the coolant with a hydrometer, and that will tell you how good the coolant is.

Mine hits 230 at the strip when doing back to back runs, you could see the heat coming off when I popped the hood.

230 is starting into the danger range....Travis...you may want to do some cooling mods to that car or you will be paying for it later....i run mine all the time yet my car will not go over 190F....never have i seen it once go over that...it's all on how you take care of the car and how you drive it....the harder you drive (and i drive mine pretty hard...the more heat it has....the more care you give it, all the more it gives back....
