Well tubes with less restricted flow haha, there is no way I want to cash out 300 bucks for a couple of pipes with couplers and a cone filter.

We understand, it is just why do you want an intake? More power? If so wouldnt you choose one that actually has dyno charts, as tube design is a huge part? Look at Injens, before and after they dyno'd and tested it. The first one had A/F (Air to Fuel ratio) all over, which can blow up a car. The one they have, that they released, has a very nice A/F ratio, maximizing power, and engine life.

Also by using a Ebay filter which is most likely and "oiled" one you will get oil on you MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and it will go bad, that sensor is around $100+....

I guess each to their own, but spending $15,000 + on a car and having a sensor go bad, or even blowing it up to save $100????

i have it on my car, love it, anf take note i have had the GMPP intake before and hated it, i went the custom route and hated, my buddy has the injen, looks nice, but everything is the same except for the it being 3" all the way, this one a AEM replica, axactly the same as a AEM, but for 1/3 the price...also, taken from my dyno, i gained 7.5whp, 20.2wtrq from ebay intake, lsj header, lsj dp, and lsj catback, also that is peak whp and trq, the gains were seen thru out the RPM band, but the highest were midranged

Its all the same, $300+ is to much for tubes. I make similar power with the pipes from autozone for like $60. I bought the GMPP intake awhile back for like 300 i think and the $60 stuff from autozone has given me more power.

If any way to do it, you sure did it right.

I am not sure why members are reading past the BAD Air/Fuel ratios you most likely will get. You think it is okay now, but wait down the road when your ebay intakes cost you an engine.

There is a reason why main manufatures charge what they do. Part of that intake cost is the development time, that it took to ensure the car will pass proper test. Ebay intakes do not have this done, that is why they are cheaper, and you never know what your tune will do...

well i cant say much for its power...but ill tell you this...it comes with rubber connectors and worm clamps...not the best...but whatever...anyways its 3" piping from the tb down to the end of the maf section. after that it drops to 2.75". i put my maf in and it fit perfect. the bends are smooth and crisp and the insides of the pipe are cleaner than an old ladys house.

Why would the VVT changing the sound of the motor sound rediculous? I know the exact sound he's referring to. Didn't notice it until I removed the intake resonator at first, but with the full intake, it's very noticible. On my friends B16 CRX, that **** SCREAMS once VTEC kicks in. I used to think it sounded rediculous too.. Untill I heard it. Laugh all you want, but it happens.

But in all honesty, there's nothing wrong with saving some cash and buying **** used. At all.

Exactly. I've had nothing but luck with buying parts from fellow members. Shift Plus, DC strut bar, Injen intake, etc. I save probably half the cost buying things like that used.

Yeah.. My next big purchase is a set of Recaros. Then probably a full coil-over set-up. Then get boost when I win the lottery. lol. Well.. Or successfully rob a bank. But that'll only happen if my life was like on GTA and I had the weapon cheat. lol.
