Engine Differences

Hey. looking into grabbing an l61 for my brothers build, question is how can we tell an 05-06 vs and 07 L61 apart, when they are not in the car, is there a serial number stamped on the engine that provides this info! Thanks!

The valve covers of the 05-06 have lines indented into them and the dont have individual coil packs.

The 07 has a smooth top valve cover that says ecotec on top and has individual coils

Im sure theres other ways to tell too.
