So do you think a transmission shop could do it? I don't know of any machine shops around here.

im sure if its a tranny shop they either do it in house, or have something set up with an outside company do do it for them...but they should know who can machine a flywheel..its part of working on trannys and clutches

So went to the strip this weekend. Car did not want to go into 2nd at all under wot. Is this the problem with the synchros you're talking about? If so, what is the fix?

solutions:
still has air in the line. it like 100x i bleed it.
adjustable rod. zzp rod doesnt fit saturn ion. i have to weld a 3/8'' rop to extend it
use dot 5,1 work with higher temp.

For some reason the Cobalt Exedy clutches seem to do this my friends car with an Exedy stage 2 does the same thing. I have an Exedy in my Cavalier with no issues. If it was a synchro issue you would know because it would happen all the time not just under WOT, that gear would be useless without rev matching to get into it.

Solution I have no idea, I've heard mixed stories about why it does this but no hard evidence.

Even if engagement was off it would effect every gear not just second. Its worth a shot but I'm doubtful.

I mean it was still kind of hard to get in third but not nearly at bad. Also today I noticed while at stoplight at a slight uphill in first gear with the clutch all of the way to the floor I was rolling very slowly.

sounds like you clutch rod is bent so it's not fully disengaging

Alright I'll check it right now.

Hmm it doesn't look bent.

advice.

if you are at the light and you cannot engage it. stop your car, engage it then restart again when you are ready to leave.
