cause i think i know the answer...would it be alright to go to a meinikie to have a custom exhaust done (2.5 stainless mandrel bent and I like flowmaster) or should I go to an exhaust shop around the island?

stay away from flowmasters unless you want your car to sound like a bunch of drunk wasps. I'd buy a GMPP exhaust for your 2.2L if your not doing much and call it a day.

in my opinion, piping is piping. as long as its mandrel bent, and the same diameter, you're golden (make sure its stainless tho..dont want it rusting)

flowmasters sound bad on our car....so i'd avoid them. Magnaflow/borla sound good tho

btw, im sure there will be some that disagree, so this is just my opinion

I had mine done at Interstate muffler. I'm not positive but if I remember right they only deal with a few brands of mufflers. One is Magnaflow I know because thats what I got.

im not sure where on the island your loctaed but in Coram (suffolk county) a place called United Exhaust on Rt 112 ive heard good things about..if i didnt get the Megan exhaust(which i highly reccomend), i wouldve probably had them do it since they actually make mandrel bent piping...You could get either flowmaster or magnaflow mufflers..if i remember correctly they gave me an estimate of $300 installed for a 2.5 exhaust with a magnaflow muffler

Mine was 250 and i got the magnaflow race series with a 4 in outlet. Btw I wouldn't recommend it. Its loud ALL the time. I'd rather have one that was only loud at WOT

There are very few shops on the east coast that actually do mandrel bending in house, the best you could hope for at most places is fabricated from mandrel bends(which is still A O K, and looks race.)

Theres a place in Trenton, called Mufflex that does REALLY nice work, very well known.
