fIANL .4 MANI QUESTION BEFORE INSTALL!!!!

I have a newer 08+ 2.4 mani

going on an 08 with L61 motor

will I need the adapter plate?

Bought it from a member with an 09 G5 LAP motor and he didnt need an adapter, however two different motors and not sure how much difference there is besides slight power and fuel econ...

Final question I promise I just want every fact I can get before ripping into the upgrade.

if you plan on running the 2.2 TB on the IM i believe you need the adapter plate.

I will save you from the, "Use the search button." No. Your 2008 uses a 6-pin throttle body. It is different from the earlier 8-pin ones. It doesnt matter if the motors are different. Only if the throttle bodies are. The early throttle bodies do not look like they will seal to theanifold at all. They aren't smooth on the back. 6-pin ones are, in theory, and will seal. Also, if you are worried about the bolt pattern go look at the upper left corner of the tb on your car now. There are two holes. One has a bolt through it and the other is where you would bolt it on the 2.4 mani.

If anything just try it. I will have this adapter if you decide you want it. I won't drive to Waco but I can mail it to you if you are that worried.

Look at pics on google. Look for 2006 and 2010 throttle bodies. Look at how different they are on back. I will be installing my 2.4 manifold Tuesday. I have the exact same motor as you. I will let you know and will take pics.

I jst looked at the 2.4 mani and my 2.2TB and it looks like all I have to do is move the bolt from the far upper left to the closer one and bam should be a direct fit.

Im thinking about trying this tomorrow since I will be off at 4pm and be off monday and tuesday which gives me plenty of time o get it done or put the stock one back on..just got to pick up 3 ft of 1/2 vacumm hose and a couple of clamps.

Do it. I have some sealer in case the map sensor isn't a direct snug fit. Otherwise I will be fine.
