fuel pump tick

the past couple of weeks driving home from work, i here a loud thud/tick in about 40-50 secound intervals, any idea what that is?

You can hear it while driving? Under what conditions does it occur?

happens mostly at night, the right back side by the gas cap, its like a thud like some ones in the the trunk,
i think its moister geting caught some where, cause it has been muggy at night

those are just the quarters spitting out of your exhaust everytime you apply pressure to the gas pedal.

its a gas cap vacuume test...but it shouldnt do it while you are driving...it should sound like someone inside ur trunk punching the decklid...

i noticed mine does that after i shutoff the car . takes about a minute or so. that is the same sound we are talking about right? sounds like 5 clicks.
