87 octane for a 2.2 nothing more. Anything over 87 octane your just waisting your money. If you want a better gas however research TOP TIER gasoline.

Now i'm waiting for everyone else to argue "well I get better performance/econ out of 90 octane in my 2.2"

You are correct. The best fuel for yout car is that lowest octane that your car can run on. Anything higher your engine actually wastes power to try and burn it. Everyone thinks that higher octane means higher performance but that is not true.

87 is what its tuned for, and its the cheapest.

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it. You just might break it.

i found when i was running 87 octane with just my cat back it kinda didnt run as well as me running 89 or 90 octane... i dnno why it just seems to... maybe its me lol but i was running 90 octane and paying 15cents more so i started putting 89 in and it still runs the same...still get the same economy even as 87 octance... so thats my input on this

If you cut out the floor, you can run on feet like the Flintstones.
