is this a good kit!!

im really looking to turbo my car but i cant decide on a kit how is this one?

what hp gains would i be looking at and what engine mods would i need to run at 15-20lbs of boost. i have a 2007 cobalt ls with a 2.2 5 speed.

Stage 3 adds 11 psi and 150+ HP, 12 sec power

Includes:

Bullseye s256 extended tip turbo
Powdercoated charge piping
Liquid/air Intercooler
Heat exchanger
IC pump with lines
All stainless and aluminum tubing
Includes 304 stainless 2.5" downpipe
ZZP 304 stainless turbo manifold
All feed and drain oiling lines
silicon boots
Stainless clamps
Custom tuned PCM
TiAL 38mm wastegate kit
Blow off valve
All installations accessories
60# injectors
Intake tubing and filter
Spark plugs
2 bar map
-More HP and custom configurations available with at customer request

-Premium fuel required

If you desire more than 15psi of boost, we recommend upgraded to boost reference fuel pressure, upgraded fuel pump wiring and a larger fuel pump. But the boost reference fuel system isnt activated until 17+psi of boost.

bump

I'm sure you are aware, but this is a kit designed for the LSJ. That being said, from what little I know of our platform, I am sure that everything would fit just fine(minus the PCM of course). But because of the weaker internals and transmission of the 2.2, you wouldn't be able to use this kit to its potential.

My advice is to look around for a used Garrett kit for the 2.2 (they don't make them anymore). This will save you some money and also put you in a horsepower range that will keep your engine happy.

You might be able to run the ZZP stg two kit safely..for a while. You should read up on the GM ecotec build books for ideas on what youll need to do at certain power levels. Your prolly gunna wanna do a good bit of work before ya install that

Actually if this is the zzp kit its made for a 2.4 and isnt the lsj 2.0 supercharged?

You would definately need replace stock internals with this kit and unless you are getting it all used the stage 3 from zzp cost a pretty little penny.

as stated, this kit is for the 2.4l, not the LSJ. Everything will bolt up fine, and this is a very high quality kit. You will need a 3rd party tune however, as ZZP uses HPTuners for their tunes, which dont work for the 2.2
Vince at trifecta can tune you though.

you would need pistons rods headstuds gasket etc to run 20lbs of boost on that setup

i'm personally gonna go with the stg1, and buy the stg2 parts from other vendors since you can do the stg2 stuff elsewhere for cheaper.

while that's getting put together, i'll be upgrading the rods.

should i port and polish the head, change cams, change valves and valve springs or would those be ok to run at 20lbs of boost on this kit.

From what I gather..those mods you listed are really for higher revving (the PnP will help you with any build really...depending on the build) and not necesarily for handling more boost/airflow/power.
