Guy's who have put polyurethane bushing in your trans mounts...
Hey guys i put my front bushing in real easily a little while ago, but today i was trying to get the rear one out and it was a bitch. i was wondering if anyones got any tips for me on getting the rear mount out... I took out all the bolts but i couldn't get tit around all the other parts around it. Also, the heatshield looks like it would have been a pain in the ass but i didn't even get far enough to see if that would cause problems...
can anyone help me out? how'd you guys get your rear mounts out?
Thanks in advance
anybody?

my bad guys bc i forgot to mention i have a 2.2 when i was writing.. idk how much different the rear ones are in the 2.0 though. im guessing a lot bc it sounds like it was easy for you guys. but yeah i got all the bolts off but it felt like something was still hanging on to it. not a bolt though, i had the thing moving all around but just couldn't get it around the other parts and out from under the car. and i couldn't get off the oxygen sensor bc i didn't have enough access. sorry guys shouldve mentioned this is more directed to 2.2 guys, but i appreciate the help anyway
so any of you 2.2 guys have any advice?

thats what i was thinking it might have been, but it was impossible to get to it because there was so little space. im gonna try again today if i get my car back in the next few hours (its in for oil change and ac work) and if it doesn't work out ill get some pics of what im talking about
bump... anybody? i might try it again now but im getting sick of unbolting everything and then just having to bolt it up without getting done what i wanted to... but ill get some pics...

thanks man but i saw that thread. the mounts are a little different. the front mount was easy but the rear mount has another heat shield on it that doesn't come off (or atleast easily). i couldn't even get anywhere near being able to pull the o2 sensor out, i could only see the plug on it from the bottom up. ive got a few hours so im about to start. hopefully itl actually work this time bc im getting tired of wasting my time to get nowhere!!
pics will be up too if i run into the same problem.

ok here is abad pic with my cell camera. i will get better ones if i don't get further, i just took a little break.
The circle on the left is around a small piece of metal that the heat shield connects to the mount with. i kno its hard to see. on the right the circle is around a bolt that has to be taken off to get the whole thing moving around. i don't think theres anyway to get the 2 apart from eachother.
ok forget about the heatshield for now i think i might be able to get it out with it on. i have identified the problem and as spaz said and i sort of suspected it is the o2 sensor. i can't get the damn thing out. i tried pulling on it but its in such a position i have to reach around the axle to get to it. from there ihave no leverage to be able to pull it off. i tried needle nose pliers and no luck. anybody have an idea how to get this thing off it. this little plastic clip will be the end of me i swear
bumpity bump i am desperate here cmon guys don't make me cut the clip
==================
ok it is all done. idk if the o2 sensor broke or if it can slide back in. idk how it works but my first impression was that it was snapped. got to go to work so ill check it out later.
and no, it didn't take me 5 hours. i finished at about 1:30 and took my time while i was working so i didn't lose my patience again!
