hey i was just wondering if i could get some suggestions on a header/Dp/exhaust combo that would net me the most gains without getting a CEL

 

I have the pacesetter header with magnaflow cat back and I dont throw any codes. Just make sure whoever installs them does it right and everything will be fine.

And if you opt to buy a downpipe rather than just get one made make sure you get a cat on it because with no cat you will throw a code for sure

 

vibrant header/dp/greddy evoII exhaust is what i have, no cels...i suggest something with a cat, high flow for best performance

 

you are still likely to throw a cel even with a hi flow cat

 

i have a txc 2.5 dp with car brand new never installed, gmpp about 1500 miles on it, and xtc intake brand new never installed im tryin to sell if your interested.

 

if you're very concerned about a cel for some reason, seriously, keep your car stock. even if you don't get one right away, if you mod your cobalt at some pont you WILL get a cel

i was thinking either zzp midlengh h/DP combo or vibrant h/DP with a GMPP exhaust. So would it be lack of a cat or even a high flow cat that would cause a CEL then.

 

hell, i throw a cel and i have a full lsj exhaust. insufficient catalyst, lol. but here is an idea if you want to save money too, get a zzp shorty header+their downpipe (cat, no cat your choice, but cel will throw if no cat) lsj catback and if need be, replace the muffler with something you want. but the stock lsj muffler is pretty free flowing. not like a straight through, but good for a stock muffler.

i see you are willing to shell out some cash, but that is just an option. save money for other goodies.

 

yep. i got cat codes probably 4 times in the last month, but big deal, i just deleted them.

 

wat do u do to delete them disconnect the battery?

 

i have a code reader, disconnecting the battery every time gets old fast.
