Canada Help with lightbar install

What size wire would be safe for a 52" 500 watt lightbar? at 12v its 41.6 amps and at 14v its 35.7 so like 8 or 6 gauge wire maybe? I just don't want to burn my car down.

This harness they sell is 12AWG... 8 or 6 seems like overkill.

Make sure you add a 45 or 50 amp fuse, closer to your battery connection the better.

Do you have a high output alternator? Or planning on dual batteries?

I'm gunna get dual batteries. How would I go about hooking them up? And how can i make it so the alternator charges them both but doesn't kill them when my car is off?

I use the one I have on it now on the street, when your driving at 4:30 in the morning there aren't a lot of people out.

wether or not people use “street legal” lighting, is their choice,I neither condone nor condemn, as long as they shut the brights down when following or opposing,in traffic, I don’t mind . Mind you I am legally Color and Night blind the deer densely populate some areas, cobalts OEM lighting is trash, most aftermarket lighting is as well, if one wants to be ticketed for unauthorized lighting equipment, that’s their problem. What it comes down to is making twilight travel safer for driver and passengers.
