Ok so today i raced my 2 friends one was in a mustang GT SC, and the other in a charger, the light turned green we go, i get a good launch then right before shifting to 2nd my car just shuts down it says egine power reduced, i cant get on the throttle at all (i had to coast into a jack in the box) it sounded like and felt like it was running on 2 cylinders, and the whole car was a shaking so i shut it off wait a few turn it back on and same thing then finally after a few more times it starts up just fine, and drives normal.

I think what happened was, is that it redlined and i didnt know it bc the the tach is so damn slow i didnt really know when to let off but idk for sure
and this aint the first time it happened, its starting to get annoying!

and so you guys know the V6 charger won bc the Stang f***** up his trans lol

any ideas why its doing this is greatly appreciated!!!!

Mods to car? any CEL's?

 

Mods are AEM CAI, LSJ exhaust mani, ZZP 2.5 DP with highflow cat, 2.25 catback, and a trans cooler, trifecta tuned
and i wasnt able to check the cel bc it went off before i could get to an autozone for them to check it out

 

Even though your CEL is off it will tell you a history of the codes.

 

same thing happened to me twice today!

i just recently installed a injen short ram 2 days ago, and had a little lag on cold starts, and today did the exact thing "power reduce"

and only mods i have is the injen short ram and a muffler...

 

okay so i did a little looking around to try and figure out whats goin on, on our cars, and 1 idea might be a dirty/bad MAF sensor, and to go to autozone and get the spray cleaner, and to make sure your intake is clean..

just an idea, im goin to try it out tomorrow.

 

make sure your maf isnt backwards also. i have injen cold air intake, wanna-be badmab headers, ss/sc dp and a megan racing muffler and have never had an issue.

Tried flipping my mad but it wasnt it, the holes didn't fit up right, checked foe codes and all is saying is running rich. Idk whats goin on.

 

Sounds like you need a retune, did you have the tune before the intake?

 

Yea ive been retuned multiple times since i kept adding exhaust stuff so i know i cant be that
