Help picking exhaust components

Im still running my stock exhaust on my 3.1" supercharger. I want to keep it cost effective and not a total pain in the ass to install. I found a badmab knockoff header for like $120 shipped. I had thought about just keeping my stock catback since it has the resonator delete and a flowmaster. But it's still only 2.25". As far as the downpipe goes I had thought about just using a stock s/c downpipe. But I've got the feeling that at least the downpipe and catback won't actually do much to help.

So I'm looking for better suggestions. So toss them out there.

I'm not necessarily wanting to go super cheap, I just want cost effective and not a total pain in the ass to install. Preferably a shorty header as it seems a lot easier to fit into place. That's why I was thinking badmab or similar. Then I'm confused on the downpipes. I'm sure something like the ZZP 2.5" would flow better but how much better over the stock s/c?

Dude I rocked a cobalt addiction header with a stock lsj downpipe, or a 2.5 catless for years. I would swap between the two every once in a while couldn't decide between the better performance vs the less noise between the two. Then the cat went bad and I had to get inspection so I spent the money on a zzp long tube (and it's less now then when I got it) the differance is like night and day. Just save up and get one. I'm running it threw a stock lsj exhaust feels fantastic.

Well honestly, if I go with a long tube style header, I'll probably just go with a pacesetter. It's a he'll of a lot cheaper then what ZZP has. I mean I'm really thinking Badmab is what I'm going with for a header. I found a website yesterday called like mandrelexhaust.com or something that had a 2.5" cat'd downpipe for under $200. I may look into that.

Also, how much of a difference is 1/4" going to make in terms of a catback?

2.25" will be ok.

I have ZZP midlength combo, and their catback all 2.5"

08baltls,

I just bought a badmab rep off ebay, tsudo exhaust off ebay and a zzp 2.5 catted dp, bolt it all on did a few adjustments and it sounds good. I had a small leak, barely can hear unless next to something from the header to dp, I sprayed the gaskets with copper spray and now the leak is gone. I would say go for it, i did and it works just fine.

That's awesome to hear. If you don't mind my asking, what did end up spending in all on that setup? And how were there any noticeable gains?

$200 for new zzp 2.5 catted dp, $140 on the Tsudo catback, $120 on the rep header. $460 on the header back setup. $8 for the can of Copper spray.

Gains, right now i dont know. I havent really beat on it yet, waiting to the get the s/c on.

I agree. I went the "cheap route" with my header. And am now saving for a quality header and dp set up. I dont want to knock the one i have because they were good to me, it performs well and its only my opinion that my repeated leak from it comes from the manufacturing process/ metal used. Ive replaced three gaskets between it and the head. The leak always returns after about 1000 miles. New GM studs and nuts also. It always leaks from a different cylinder. And yes i know how to use a torque wrench and know the proper tightening order. Just my two cents.

Did you try using the copper spray on the gasket? It works wonders
